Acquiring the right land is crucial. For us, key considerations are: distance to city core, walkable commute or great public transport, and demand for efficient unit sizes.
We target young professionals with design-led, mixed-use developments or residential schemes with interesting ground floor uses or amenities,
and to meet the huge institutional demand for well-managed residential property portfolios, we develop for both the open market and private-rented sector.
Birmingham is now a particular focus for Apsley House Capital plc; we are building a city core portfolio in a 50/50 joint venture with Galliard Homes, which has a £500 million gross development value, with a target of £1 billion at the end 2018.
At the same time, we are assembling several sites in Bristol, which will be the cornerstone of a portfolio in the South West.
